European Standards On Entertainment Technology And Temporary Demountable Structures

Established in 2014, CEN/TC 433 “Entertainment technology” has released five European standards, which all became British standards.

These are: design and manufacture of aluminium and steel trusses, design and manufacture of aluminium decks and frames, machinery for stages and other production areas, safety requirements for stands and truss lifts, and a code of practice on lifting and motion operations in the event industry.

CEN/TC 152 “Fairground and amusement park machinery and structures” has released EN 17879 “Event Structures”, which will become a national British standard immediately.

The lecture provides a brief overview of these standards and their application.
