HH Audio talks UK debuts, career paths and breaking into the industry!
)
Professional audio brand and official show sponsor, HH Audio are set to exhibt a suite of new product ranges at PLASA Focus Leeds 2025. Ahead of the show, we spoke with Marketing Manager, Emma Thompson about their UK debuts, career paths and breaking into the industry!
What was your first role in the industry?
I started out in the industry as a content creator for Headstock Group, working on design projects for Laney, HH, and several distributed brands. Over time, my role evolved, and I shifted my focus entirely to HH Audio. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to introduce new ideas and strategies, defining the brand’s direction, something I’m excited to see evolve in the coming years.
Are there any topics that the industry should be talking about more?
I’ve seen a lot more discussion about diversity in this sector, which is great! As a young woman in the industry, it’s hard not to notice the gender imbalance - but diversity isn’t just about gender. Another challenge that doesn’t get talked about enough is how difficult it can be for young people to break into the industry in the first place.
I was lucky enough to start my career through an apprenticeship as a content creator, which then led to marketing assistant, marketing associate, and now marketing manager. That first opportunity made all the difference, but I know so many young people who are struggling to get their foot in the door.
There needs to be more opportunities for young people, or those wanting to breach into new industries. Whether that’s through apprenticeships, training programmes, or other. The cycle of needing experience to gain experience is an all too common struggle.
What do you value or enjoy the most about exhibiting at PLASA Focus Leeds?
PLASA Focus Leeds is a great opportunity for us to connect with industry peers in an intimate yet dynamic setting. It’s a great localised show that gives us many networking opportunities without having to travel miles abroad. For a British company like us, we appreciate having the opportunity to exhibit close to home.
What products or services will you showcase at PLASA Focus Leeds this year?
This year, HH will host the official UK debut of numerous new ranges. These ranges cover various sectors within audio installation, from commercial install products, to live sound and portable pa. Visitors to N-D06 can expect to see our new and improved Tessen Line Array, Prince Point Source loudspeakers, the elegant Aptur range, and finally the latest addition to the MZ Series – the MZ-140DX.
Our team will be on hand to answer any questions and discuss these products in further detail. We will also have catalogues available to anyone interested in our full product portfolio.
What’s next for your company? Any big plans or releases?
We are focused on expanding our portfolio to become a complete solution provider for all types of professional installations. This includes diversifying and improving our current product ranges to address a broader spectrum of applications, while preserving the high performance and reliability that HH Audio is known for.
